"Kea are such beautiful parrots, and a lot more solid than I’d have imagined. I got my reference photos on a visit to Willowbank in Christchurch where the local birds decided my jacket toggles were an interesting toy. I wanted this illustration to include the Mount Cook lilies that are found in the habitat where Keas are found in the south island of New Zealand."
